Stellar structure and evolution, single stars

  • Stellar Structure and Evolution, RUDOLPH KIPPENHAHN AND ALFRED WEIGERT 1990, Springer-Verlag, ISBN 0-387-58013-1. Very good and popular textbook.
  • Stellar Interiors (Physical Principles, Structure and Evolution) CARL J. HANSEN AND STEVEN D. KAWALER, 1994, Springer- Verlag. The first edition is better for aspects related to convection, the second edition (ISBN 0-387-20089-4) has improved the chapter on stellar evolution
  • An Introduction to the Theory of Stellar Structure and Evolution, DINA PRIALNIK, Cambridge University Press, 2000, ISBN 0-521-65937-X. Very good introduction to stellar evolution, the level of this book is slightly below that of the lecture.
  • Principes Fondamentaux de Structure Stellaire, MANUEL FORESTINI, 2000, Gordon & Breach, ISBN 90-5699-223-6. Good description of stellar structure (not evolution), in french.
